Waxing FAQ

1. Does waxing hurt?
Waxing may cause mild discomfort, especially during your first visit, as we’re removing hair from the root. Most clients say it gets easier with each service as hair grows back finer and softer.
2. How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
A good rule of thumb: about the length of a grain of rice (¼ inch). If hair is too short, the wax may not be able to grip it properly.
3. How often should I get waxed?
We recommend every 4–6 weeks for best results. Staying consistent helps reduce discomfort and slows regrowth over time.
4. Can I wax during my period?
Yes, you can—as long as you’re comfortable. Just wear a tampon or menstrual cup. Skin may be a bit more sensitive during this time.
5. Can I wax if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! Many expecting moms get waxed throughout pregnancy. Just note that sensitivity may increase due to hormonal changes.
6. Can I still wax if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! We use professional-grade wax designed for even the most sensitive skin. Let us know your concerns, and we’ll make adjustments to keep you comfortable.
7. What should I do before my wax?
Exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment, avoid heavy lotions the day of service, and skip tanning or sweating right before your wax.
8. What should I avoid after waxing?
For 24–48 hours, avoid heat, sweating, tanning, saunas, working out, tight clothing, and fragranced products. Keep the area clean and dry to prevent irritation.
9. Will I get ingrown hairs?
Ingrown hairs can happen, especially if you’re prone to them. Regular exfoliation and hydration help prevent them. We’ll recommend products to keep your skin smooth between visits.
10. Can I shave between waxing appointments?
We advise against it. Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and can make your next waxing session more uncomfortable.
11. How long does waxing last?
Most clients enjoy 2–4 weeks of smooth results. With consistent waxing, hair grows back finer and slower over time.
12. What if I’m using Retinol or acne medication?
If you’re using Retin-A, Differin, Retinol, or taking Accutane, please let us know—these products thin the skin and can cause lifting. Some may require a waxing pause.
13. Is waxing safe for all skin types and tones?
Yes! Waxing is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types. Our licensed professionals are trained to work safely with every skin tone and hair type.
14. Do I need to be embarrassed about getting a Brazilian wax?
Not at all! We do these all day—it's a judgment-free zone. Your comfort and privacy are always our priority.
15. How can I reduce pain before a wax?
Avoid caffeine and alcohol beforehand, hydrate well, and you can take ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment if approved by your doctor.
